Senior Manager, Compliance Policies
Role Summary
The Senior Manager- Policies is an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance professional who leads the development, implementation and governance of Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures pertaining to all applicable regulatory obligations, at group level.
Sitting within Group Compliance and reporting to the Head of Compliance Strategy & Transformation, this is a critical role in the delivery of Group Compliance transformation agenda, translating UAE regulations as well as G42 guidelines into clear, practical and enforceable policy frameworks that are applied consistently across all functions and entities.
This role requires a deep regulatory knowledge, acumen, and experience, combined with exceptional writing skills, to produce, present and manage policy and procedural documentation that is both regulator-ready and operationally meaningful, and to bring stakeholders along in the process.
This role is an opportunity to play a central role in Astra Tech's Group Compliance transformation, building the policy architecture that underpins the Group's regulatory framework from the ground up. For a skilled policy professional with UAE regulatory knowledge and a passion for clear, effective governance documentation, this role offers scope, ownership and impact within one of the UAE's most ambitious fintech businesses.
Responsibilities
2.1 Policy Development & Maintenance
· Develop/ support to develop Group-wide Compliance policies and frameworks, ensuring full alignment with CBUAE regulatory requirements, applicable UAE legislation and G42 requirements, and bench marked to industry standards
· Translate complex regulatory obligations into clear, well-structured and enforceable policy documents
· Maintain the policy repository, ensuring all documents are version-controlled, accurately dated, properly approved and accessible across the organisation
· Establish and manage a policy review cycle, proactively identifying policies requiring periodic reviews as well as ad hoc updates in response to regulatory change, business growth and/or Compliance Monitoring reviews and audit/ CBUAE findings
· Ensure correct mapping of reference policies within each document, and consistent requirements across the board
· Ensure consistency of language, structure and standards across all Compliance policy documentation, developing and maintaining policy templates
2.2 Procedures & Operational Documents
· Translate/ support to translate Group Compliance policies and frameworks into detailed, fit for purpose, operationally sustainable and well-documented operating procedures with clearly defined controls and risk criteria
· Ensure procedures are clearly mapped to their underlying policy and regulatory obligations, providing a traceable and auditable link between regulatory requirements and operational controls
· Identify gaps between existing procedures and Compliance policies, as well as current regulatory expectations, and lead remediation efforts in a timely and structured manner
2.3 Regulatory Change & Impact Assessment
· Monitor regulatory developments issued by the CBUAE and other relevant UAE authorities, assessing their impact on existing Compliance policies and procedures, and/ or requirement to create new documents
· Prepare clear, well-structured regulatory change impact assessments and present findings and recommendations to the Head of Compliance Strategy & Transformation
· Support the Regulatory Compliance Unit in responding to regulatory consultations, examinations and thematic reviews, regarding policy documentation, as required
2.4 Governance & Stakeholder Engagement
· Manage the policy approval and sign-off process, coordinating with senior stakeholders to ensure timely review, challenge and endorsement of policy documents
· Guide the first line and governance teams to ensure policies are effectively operationalised and that first-line procedures remain aligned with Group Compliance standards
· Support Business, Product and functional teams in interpreting and applying policy requirements, providing written guidance and SME support, as required
· Act as the SPOC for policy-related queries from across the organisation, providing timely, accurate and pragmatic guidance
· Engage and liaise with G42 counterparts to understand and embed G42 requirements within Astra Tech policies and procedures
2.5 Communications, Training and Reporting
· Develop clear policy communications that enable Business, Product and other units to understand their obligations pertaining to Group Compliance policies and procedures
· Design and deliver policy awareness and training materials, ensuring staff across Astra Tech understand the policies relevant to their roles and the consequences of non-compliance
· Maintain all training records
· Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and briefing materials for Senior Management, the Board and regulatory bodies, as required
Requirements
·8+ years of relevant experience in a Regulatory Compliance role with a regulator, bank, fintech or consulting firm
· Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the UAE regulatory landscape, international regulatory guidelines and industry standards
· Exceptional written communication skills to produce policy documentation and executive presentations that are clear, well-structured and professional and stem from a strong technical background
· Strong analytical and research capability, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory text and translate it into practical, actionable guidance
· Proven experience in developing, drafting and maintaining Compliance policies, frameworks and procedures within a regulated financial services environment
· Familiarity with regulatory change management processes
· Relevant professional qualifications and certifications in Compliance, Risk or Governance are preferred
