Senior Accountant
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong specialisation in Taxation - including UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and OECD Pillar 2 compliance. The role combines technical tax expertise with core accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, full statutory compliance, and effective tax planning within the UAE regulatory framework.
Responsibilities
1. Taxation
· VAT Compliance: Prepare, review, and file VAT returns in accordance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements; manage input/output VAT reconciliations.
· Corporate Tax: Prepare and review Corporate Tax computations and returns as per the UAE Corporate Tax Law.
· Pillar 2: Support data gathering, calculation for OECD Pillar 2; assist in preparing group reporting templates and disclosures.
· Monitor changes in UAE and international tax laws and provide internal updates or training to the finance team.
· Liaise with FTA, auditors, and external tax advisors regarding compliance, assessments, or audits.
· Maintain tax records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for all tax filings.
2. General Accounting & Financial Reporting
· Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
· Manage general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
· Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in line with IFRS and company policies.
· Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financials.
· Assist in external and internal audits, providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation as required.
3. Process Improvement and Internal Controls
· Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, controls, and statutory requirements.
· Contribute to improving accounting systems, processes, and automation related to tax reporting and financial close.
· Participate in ERP system implementation or enhancements to improve tax and financial reporting accuracy.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Master’s degree is an advantage.
· Professional qualification (ACCA, CA or similar) preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on taxation.
· Strong technical knowledge of:
- UAE VAT Law and FTA Regulations
- UAE Corporate Tax Law
- OECD Pillar 2 framework
- IFRS accounting standards
· Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion is an advantage) and advanced Excel.
· Experience in a multinational group or UAE-based corporate environment preferred.
