Role Summary

We’re looking for a Design Engineer who sits at the intersection of design craft and frontend engineering. You’ll be the connective tissue between product designers and developers, owning our design system, enabling AI-powered workflows, and ensuring our product ships with consistency, speed, and intelligence. This role is not just about tokens and components; it’s about building design superpowers for every designer and developer at Botim.

Responsibilities

• Automate design-to-code: Integrate AI workflows (e.g., MCP, Cursor, GPT-4o) to reduce manual handoff, naming, and implementation errors.
• Bridge design and engineering: Translate Figma components into reusable, production-ready code libraries (React/React Native) across Botim’s platforms.
• Own and evolve our design system: Drive adoption, maintain documentation, and enforce standards across teams.
• Support product teams: Work closely with designers and frontend engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation with accessibility and performance in mind.
• Build tooling and plugins: Create internal tools that enhance our Figma workflows — from linting to variant optimization to token syncing.
• Champion design quality: Perform audits, run workshops, and help scale design best practices through automation.
• Contribute to our AI Design Strategy: Experiment with GenAI to turn prompts into prototypes, design critiques, or user flows.

Requirements

• Have 3–6 years of experience as a design engineer, UX engineer, frontend developer with a design focus, or similar.
• Are fluent in React, Typescript or Javascript, CSS, and Figma APIs.
• Have experience working in design systems, building and maintaining components at scale.
• Are passionate about developer experience (DX) and design tooling.
• Have experimented with AI tools (e.g., GPT-4, Cursor, Figma plugins, Claude) or are excited to build with them.
• Love shipping fast, but never sloppy. You care about naming, accessibility, and performance.
• Can debug an interface problem and also critique a design pattern.
• Experience working on super apps, fintech, or B2B tools.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or other AI-driven design-to-code frameworks.
• Contributions to open source design tooling or public design systems.
• Experience with Shadcn UI, TailwindCSS, or design token frameworks.
